URFAHR - TYPE REVIVAL

Typography is more than just fonts. It is history, craftsmanship, and the connection between tradition and modernity.
This project started by looking back: a Type Walk through Munich revealed forgotten signs on building facades and classic typefaces like Garamond—reminders of the old days of lead typesetting that still impress today. Antique shops and old storage spaces held books with typefaces that became the basis for a type revival. Using this as inspiration, a new font was created with uppercase, lowercase, and selected special characters. The original style of the old design was kept, but it was updated to fit modern times. In the end, the font was shown in print and digital media to highlight its versatility and contemporary style.
