EFFICIENT JEWELRY

2024

Jewelry is traditionally made from precious but limited raw materials such as silver, gold, white gold, or platinum.
One way to make jewelry more resource-efficient is by using recycled materials. However, in this project, I focused on a different approach: the material-efficient design of jewelry from the very beginning. Using Grasshopper, I developed a tool that allows the ring size to be adjusted with the push of a button. The Voronoi pattern was also created with this program. Through this approach, I was able to achieve a material saving of 48 percent compared to a solid silver ring of the same size.
